The Suffering of Christ’s Followers, ‘The Christians’

The Suffering of Christ’s Followers, ‘The Christians’

All that development of the new life, the ‘New World,’ did not happen to the Christian or the advanced Christian civil society during a day and night. Rather, it cost the Christians a precious life that has no price on the face of the Earth, except for consideration by God and the entry of His eternal kingdom through sacrifice and martyrdom for the sake of humans and humanity.

The Christian has suffered persecution, terror, humiliation and savoured the cruelty of his murder from the rest of the regimes and peoples who reject ‘The Way, The Truth, The Life,’ and the knowledge of the Love of the Spirit of God.

When Christ was crucified and died on the cross near Jerusalem in a place of the skull, in the Hebrew language it is called Golgotha, His disciples collapsed and Judas Iscariot hanged himself for his regret over the treachery of his master Christ. Fear pervaded themselves and in the selves of all His followers ‘The Christians.’

How Did Christians Survive in an Atmosphere of Persecution and Terror…Through Their Lives after the Absence of Christ?

No doubt some of them died. Some took refuge in the rugged remote mountains in Lebanon – Phoenicia and hid in natural caves, sometimes made with their own hands. But in cities and towns they were hiding, in the shelters under basements and in places hidden from the eyes of their pursuers and opponents. They practiced their religious activities, meetings and rituals with caution and disciplined control.

The Source of Injustice and Persecution
The source of injustice and persecution of Christ’s followers, after His absence, came from the opposition of blind Jews and from the corrupt Rome system.
The source of the Jews: Not all Jews were satisfied with the persecution of the Christians, because they were at that time divided into three groups.
• The First Category: They were the chief priests, extremists, blind, with the Pharisees and the scribes.
• The Second Category: They were the wandered pagans.
• The Third Category: They were the moderates who believed in the message and evangelization of Christ and the making of His great miracles.
