Moses’s Legacy
Moses realized he was the natural, responsible, first leader and ultimate reference for the life salvation of his clans. There was no competitor in his competence and personal education ability. There was an emptiness of the tribal leadership after Abraham’s death. Emptiness in observing religious values, controlling regulations, laws (Shariah) and social customs among human beings. It was a requirement in desperate need of a spiritual- ethical guide that taught his followers and other people in the conduct of an upright life. So the people could honour God and avoid the temporary problems that a human being faces in his life on Earth.
We do not forget that the Hebrews in that era, their society consisted of several clans and tribes and they had differences. Every tribe had a revered and capable sheikh who managed its affairs and addressed its problems and had the vision, inclinations, worship and customs appropriate to the desire to live life. We learned during the time of King David how envy, conspiracies and disagreements faced him and surrounded him from all sides and threatened his administration and his followers while he was working to unify ancient Israel.
The prominence of Moses among his clans, his scientific competence, the strength of his unique personality and his new religious behaviour helped him lead and unite the Hebrew community, because he was guiding them to the conduct of a straight life and enacting for them the laws that give them obedience, respect, hearing, cooperation, humility and honouring God. Among the most important of his laws were the Ten Commandments, which are the basis for high ideals and the integrity of self-behaviour. They are some of the most important laws and norms upon which the judiciary and civil society depend, not only in the Hebrew – Jewish community, but throughout the entire world.
The Hebrews – Jews are among the processions of mankind, and their lineage today is unique in its kind. They belong to the oldest Semitic peoples who preserve their race, traditions, language, rituals and belief in the One Most High God. They are from the ranks of people who, with their conscious thinking, looked at the mystery of the depth of existence and the spirit of life and embraced the spirit of the Most High God. They accepted existence and built their society from the beauty of the spirit of existence! In the beginning, since the life of their ancient forefathers before Adam, maybe they did not know who the true God is. And they did not see him, but their souls embraced the spirit of the mystery of existence before everything. That secret was and still is for them, the secret of life.
The soul is the strong eternal link between life and death!
No other community or people on Earth have over time offered human beings the highest philosophy of spirituality, precious hymns and made him think about legislation, spiritual, civil laws and inclines towards civilization; he is devoted, revered and worships God the One Most High. And in the mean time, he thinks about peace, love and brotherhood among peoples, more than the ancient Canaanite – Lebanese and the Hebrews – Jews, who were attentive people.
The Canaanite – Lebanese – Phoenician and the Hebrew – Jewish people were fundamental pillars in the foundation of the world’s civilization. No segment of the peoples has the right to ignore or deny their existence and their sacrifice in order to build a global civilization.
