• Alcohol has other benefits in taking care of the source of its substance, preparing it, making it and selling it to the economy of the country.
From the place of taking care of its plant and collecting its fruit from the field, passing through the factory for refining and packaging. To display, transport and selling them in stores, clubs, hotels, casinos, restaurants, airports and homes…It employs thousands of employees, workers, merchants and advertisers. It generates and increases the wealth of the state treasury balance to serve the people and build the nation.
• Not to mention the parties, celebrations and weddings, also that was presented to the crowd after the burial ceremony.
• The Qur’an says in Surat al-Baqarah, Verse 219:
‘They ask you about alcohol and gambling, say in them there is a great sin and benefits for people and their sin is greater than their benefit and they ask you what they should spend, say pardon, so god makes clear the verses to you, so that you may reflect.’
• In Surat al-Ma’idah, Verse 90: ‘O you who believe, wine, gambling, idols and drinking cups are an abomination from the work of Satan, so avoid it, that you may succeed.’
• In Surat al- Nisa, Verse 43: ‘O you, who believe, do not approach prayer while you are drunk until you know what you are saying…’
The most beautiful and closest to the human heart is the ‘delicious wine’ at the time of eating and the time of romance while sitting with a lover, or friend to exchange emotions and feelings, social intellectual mature conversation and romantic love kisses! You feel the angels and God look at you with joy.
Did you forget the poet, artist, musician, genius and solo thinker? No one else comforts his loneliness except the pleasure of sipping wine slowly with the thoughts of his imagination and the spirit of the beauty of music in a time of tranquillity and peace!
When the Messenger Mohammad spoke about eating, he let fall in his clear words the word ‘harrama,’ meaning forbidden. But, when they asked him about drinking, he explained in particular about alcohol and its dangers. Wisely he did not use the word ‘harrama,’ but rather made it clear with caution that you should be careful and think about what you are doing. If you are a believer, avoid drinking a lot of wine so that your dignity may be preserved.
Approximately, after one thousand five hundred years ago, the Messenger Mohammad was the first in his time to speak on the harms of alcoholism with wisdom, prudence and the degree of its danger. Recently, the justice in some countries realised the seriousness of alcoholism, its impact and the degree of its danger on safety of people and its criminal consequences.
He revealed the above-mentioned verses in order to guide humans to be aware of their dangers. He did not forbid drinking alcohol, but rather he wanted a person to be consciously and confidently responsible for his personality, his thinking, his words, his actions and his self-management. If he likes to drink alcohol with a lover and friend, or to participate in parties, official occasions and hospitality, it does not prevent him from being one of the leaders of conscious high-level personalities who sips it with awareness and moderation.
Today, the law allows everyone to drink alcohol at a rate studied by health experts, provided that it does not exceed the permissible amount.
King David says ‘and wine gladdens the heart of man.’ See in the creation Psalms 104:15
In the philosophy of the Messenger Mohammad, he says the individual is to be wise and aware at the time of drinking and sip alcohol with moderation. He does not call for intolerance and prohibition, but rather those who interpreted his words put intolerance.
From his saying: ‘Those who fabricate lies about god will not achieve what is desired.’
We would like the world to halt accusing and blaming the Messenger Mohammad.
Harmful Effects of Alcohol
Just as alcohol has benefits, it also has dangerous disadvantages. Its danger in the end is confined to the safety of the health and behaviour of the human being. Excessive consumption of drinking alcohol leads the human being to dire consequences, including:
1. Addiction: That is, a person who drinks too much alcohol becomes ‘al-Dammoun,’ meaning ugly is ‘addicted,’ because he or she consumes excessive alcohol and the ability of her or his body has weakened, especially his or her mind no longer has the ability to think, focus on speaking, walking properly and the correct, appropriate behaviour with others…The addicted drunk transforms into a state lower than that of an animal.
2. The addicted person spends most of his money on alcohol and is drawn into the world of gambling and drugs, damaging his health and future.
3. Sometimes the addict gets involved in criminal acts that lead him to dire consequences with the authority and the law.
4. Drinking excessive alcohol above the little allowed level by the awareness and mental will, it causes many diseases that are dangerous and harmful to the human body, especially damaging the liver and other organs, and is against the law.
Gambling
Gambling and others besides it, truly, are an abomination and sedition from Satan. Remember previously, the story of the honest young Mohammadian with his lost friend, the owner of the taxi, how Satan tempted him to gamble and demolished him. He lost the taxi, he owned nothing anymore and he did not build a decent family. We know many lost people with this addictive disease in themselves. They destroyed themselves, their families and destroyed their future. Today there are offices in some civilized societies to help addicted sufferers by helping and deterring them from the disease of gambling, horse racing and others…
Cleanliness
Cleanliness among the faithful Mohammadians cannot be overlooked or ignored. It is the first duty and an important belief requirement in their personal and public lives. It is legislated in their belief and is clearly mentioned in many places in the texts of the Noble Qur’an. It is a duty in their neatness, their dress, their food, their sex, their homes, their cities, their businesses and especially their prayers.
A Mohammadian who does not care about cleanliness is a non-Mohammadian who believes in and respects his creed.
Hear how the Messenger Muhammad called the believers in Surat al-Nisa, Verse 43:
‘…O you who believe, do not approach prayer at the time of your secretion, “ejaculation,” because of your wet dreams, except a passer-by, until you have washed and if you are ill or on a journey, or one of you comes from excrement or you have touched women and you did not find water, go to the face of the Earth’s ground for soil or stone, then wipe your faces and your hands, for god is most excusing and forgiving.’
In Surat al-Ma’idah, Verse 6 is similar to Surat al-Nisa as above. We suffice with showing these two verses.
The external cleanliness of the Mohammadian body before prayer is an important recommendation in its implementation, which is the method of ‘ablution.’
The Ablution
It is the most important condition for preparing the members of the Mohammadian body for prayer. It concerns the cleaning of the external body parts, which are always exposed to dust, pollution and dirt. The Messenger Mohammad focused in his recommendation on cleanliness and ablution when praying, so that the Mohammadian would be clean of foul smells and filth and his grooming would always be appropriate in good appearance. For this duty it is necessary to provide a place of water in the building of the mosque for ablution before a person enters for prayer.
In the philosophy of Mohammad, god does not accept a person’s prayer except on purity when water reaches the body parts with the intention in the four places of it. He exhorted and taught his followers to practice cleanliness in all circumstances: When they prayed, in their gatherings, in their meetings, in their eating and even before they went to their beds to rest and sleep through the night.
Hear what the Messenger Mohammad said according to what came in the writing of ‘al-Nasa’i and al-Bukhari’ about ablution:
‘If you come to your bed, perform ablution for prayer and then lie down on your right side and say:
“O god, I surrender myself to you, and I delegate my command to you, and I turn my back to you, out of desire and fear for you. A refuge and no refuge from you except to you, I believe in your book that you revealed, and your Messenger that you sent.”’
Mohammadiah’s teachings prefer that all four parts of the body remain as clean as possible throughout the day and night. The faithful Mohammadian men, women and teenage boys get up early in the morning for ablution, especially at the time of fasting, for washing their sex genitals to get rid of unpleasant smells that naturally secrete.
Cleaning the Body Parts with Intention in the Four Places:
- Wash the hands.
- Wash the face.
- Wipe the head.
- Wash the feet.

Body Hygiene
The cleansing of the whole body is called the ‘purifying ritual.’ It is a duty that the Mohammadian performs at least once a week when he is preparing to go to the mosque on Friday to perform the collective prayer. From the duty and necessity of cleanliness is found ‘circumcision.’
