The Mohammadians world is a world independent of other peoples in its religious beliefs and its preservation of its unique cultural customs on firm foundations. Some of these customs are intertwined with their faith and trace their roots back to the tribes that lived in the Arabian Peninsula before Mohammad, without any guidance to worship their God. They received their doctrine from the Messenger Mohammad approximately 610 years after Jesus Christ preached the perfect and exalted God, and confirmed it through extraordinary miracles and supernatural power. The Messenger Mohammad would not have known God were it not for the Christian world and his acquaintance with the Christian monk Bahira in Damascus. The Messenger Mohammad did not harbor hatred or malice toward Christians; rather, he was deeply influenced by Christ and his mother, the Virgin Mary, and defended Christ in his words recorded in the Qur’an. The Messenger Mohammad commissioned the Qur’an, with the help of the greatest poets of his time, because he was illiterate, to serve as a guide for worship, spiritual direction, and all aspects of life.
Among these tribal customs, the Mohammadians maintained their traditional dress, suited to the climate of the Arabian Peninsula and its natural heat, thus protecting them from the harmful effects of excessive heat. Over the years, their clothing evolved into a national, civilized style, remaining largely unchanged from the more liberal fashions that have been seen among other more liberal societies, which often exhibit a lack of modesty and openness in the lives of Mohammadians.
Among these garments, the hijab remains essential in the lives of Mohammadians. More recently, in recent years, the Western world, which considers itself civilized, along with its politicians, though gravely mistaken in its repugnant and criminal behaviour, has begun to oppose and criticize the hijab, mocking Mohammadians, especially the virtuous, refined, and peaceful woman, sometimes even resorting to insults and physical assault. All of this stems from the ignorance, stupidity, and incompetence of Western politicians in addressing the issue of the hijab in a way that demonstrates respect and sophistication for Western civilization and the Mohammadians community globally.
Human beings, with their awareness and love of progress, created civilization through law and order to live in harmony, love, peace, and advancement. Anyone who acts outside the bounds of law and order is a corrupt and dangerous creature who has no right to act according to the law of the jungle, regardless of their social standing.
Today, in my explanation of the civilization of the Mohammadians, I will now discuss the hijab.
Al-Hijab
Al-Hijab, ‘the veil’ in our modern age is a rag of a type of cloth to cover the head of human beings, male and female. It dates back to the day when the ancient primitive human creature used animal hides to protect its body from the harsh factors of nature. With the passage of time and the development of life, the wise man and woman, with their knowledge, reached the making of fabrics and began to master their materials, colours and quality in order to make clothes from them and enjoy them.
Fabrics are a necessary material for the human body in civil life and an important fine art in creating their quality, colour, designs, display and sale. It is an important profession and a high social movement in the country’s industry and commerce and its scientific and technical intelligence.
The Canaanite – Lebanese – Phoenicians were the first masters of fabrics and the first to create their quality and dye their colour. What drew the desire of the kings of the Greeks, the Caesars of the Romans and the kings of Persia to the precious quality, as it became their favourite wearing dress. Also, their neighbours the Hebrews and the noble Jews, the apostles and the prophets among them was the King of Kings, Lord Jesus Christ, the pharaohs of Egypt, Queen Cleopatra and Zanobia the queen of Palmyra bought and wore their goods.
Fabrics
In general, fabrics are the dress of a costume design that shows in its display the style of dress, the intelligence of the cultural art of the country or society that respects and cares about art and adheres to its artistic customs inherited from the influence of a religious philosophy and natural, social or environmental tendencies. Some costumes are liberal, do not have a philosophical impression and do not bear or symbolize hereditary social customs. These liberated fashions are the most prevalent among the modern peoples of liberal art in the liberated world. Some of them have decency and respect and some of them have temptation and infatuation.
Any fashion designer must first think about the culture of the peoples and the natural environment of their country before drawing the idea of their ‘art concepts’ on papers and destroying their fabrics to create fashion.
The ecological nature of the Arabian Peninsula is harsh and severe in the four seasons. The majority of the civilization of the lives of the peoples of their societies is built, applied and adhered to the Mohammadiah laws that we explained earlier. It includes the dress and what is related to the hijab, the ‘khimar,’ for both women and men. It is impossible for a male, for a female Mohammadian and non-Mohammadian woman to wear a liberal dress and seductive fashion, showing her head and chest, part of her back and the tops of her legs above the knees and walking in Macca Street among the people. It is forbidden, dangerous and difficult for her to walk in an environment like that or the desert in the scorching heat of the sun for a long distance. In this case, the Mohammadian person and the visitor face two factors:
•The first factor is the natural environment.
•The second factor is the inevitable cultural-ideological environment.
Before the Mohammadiah creed, in a time of social and sexual chaos, women lived without respect. They were, as we mentioned before, cheap and subject to humiliation, kidnapping and debauchery. They were protected by the knight or the strong man, who heads the tribe and this, was the case in western society in that era. But the knight or her man did not stay by her side all day and night because he was busy with his travels and his business. Likewise, women had duties at work to fulfil; sometimes they had to go outside the boundaries of their family or tribe to travel a distance to obtain living resources or to take care of livestock…
From the fact that the woman was exposed to the strict natural environmental danger in the desert, she was forced with the man to take shelter in a long dress, covering her head and body completely.
The ‘abaya’ is the man’s clothing and the ‘chador’ is the woman’s clothing. They are the most important popular dress in the society of Mohammadians and non-Mohammadians. They cover their eyes, especially in the event of a raging storm surge and the hot, mischievous flying sand with thick dust, which prevents a person from seeing around her or him. This not only applies to the woman and man in the Arabian Peninsula, but also to children for health protection. As the Arab woman is beautiful and was subjected to kidnapping and robbery in that ancient time and the harshness of the natural environment in the desert, she held to her long dress the chador to protect her from the harsh factors of nature, to cover her face and conceal her beauty from the kidnapping and thievery of man.
With the passage of time there was no choice for man, woman and children but to change their long desert dress with modern Western clothing. In the region, it has become the authentic, cultural, national and healthy Arab dress for Bedouins and Urbanites, because this outfit conforms to the strict law of the local nature and helps in conquering the harshness of the desert and maintaining the health and safety of the person.
If the westerner wants to live on the peninsula or any other harsh desert place, she or he is forced to adapt to the local dress and wear long clothes. This is what made the Arab world, especially the Mohammadian, stick to his dress with pride, modify its design and create the quality of its material type suitable for the local climate. Let us remind the reader of Thomas Edward Lawrence, nicknamed ‘Lawrence of Arabia.’ How he succumbed to the harsh natural law of the desert and wore the long Arab dress with the ‘kaffiyah’ and the ‘headband’ instead of the western dress. In fact, Eastern and Western medicine acknowledge the benefit of long dress during the heat; because it helps the man’s testicles and the woman’s vagina breathe and be comfortable more than the tight Western pantalon, ‘pants,’ dress, whether it is for a woman or a man. That is why no one can look the look of stupidity, contempt and irony on the son of the East and the West in their harsh desert environment. During the first and second world wars, the warrior soldiers did not feel anxious about the death of bullets and bombs, as they suffered from difficulty, danger and death from the severity of heat and thirst in the desert.
The Arabic Long Dress
The long Arab dress is one of the oldest and simplest fashions among peoples. It is not only the dress of the Arab in the desert, but the peoples of the East and West used to wear it according to their taste, art and desires of their inclinations. It has been beneficial to the human being since the time of its creation in many cases:
1. In general, it is useful for protecting the body from severe heat and freezing cold.
2. It is useful to disguise the identity of the human being, whether male or female, at the time of kidnapping and robbery of women, or other criminal activity, when criminals, rulers, politicians and the guiltiest flee and are moved from one place to another…
3. It is useful for health to protect the body from dirt, dust and parasitic insects, as well as the respiration of the endoderm and the comfort of the female and male genital organs.
4. Using it as a cover for an individual’s body on a long journey while sleeping in the open or in a cave.
5. Using it as a cover to protect the individual from the stinging heat of the sun and to provide cool air from its shade.
6. A headscarf with a long dress for a woman is useful in saving her cost at the expense of her grooming expenses such as cutting hair, shaving and beautifying her body…And useful for controlling her hair, so that it does not fall into the food at the time of cooking and its services.
7.Today it is useful to protect the human creature from the rising ‘skin cancer’ in the crisis of the sun’s rays and the Earth’s environment with other pandemic diseases.
To be continued, next time I will talk on Shawl or Khimar, until then take care and enjoy your times!
