from the book of “The Messenger”

 THE MESSENGER

In the heart of the night

I remain awake, walking.

Dawn will disclose my face veil,

Death will destroy my body,

The flesh changes into dust.

But night and day will never change,

My spirit will remain for eternity.

THE SONG OF THE PHILOSOPHER

“Dark and Light”

I was born in the dark of the night and

From the lips of the dawn I said:

I am the son of the beginning and the end.

I am the sun that does not vanish,

I am the light of life,

My voice remains loud and saying:

This is the secret of existence

Remaining alive for an eternity,

Generation after my descendants vanish.

At dawn, I smile

And for the day I persevere

Perhaps people will awake and for

The sun will regulate.

I walked once on the road, and

I met a man. He said to me:

I am life, walk with me and rejoice.

From far away I heard a voice shouting, crying:

Do not believe him young man, this is evil.

And then the pleasure approached me saying:

I am not happiness in life,

The only true happiness is a peaceful mind,

Between thoughts and one self.

Not death by cessation,

But death is triumph in life,

And life is philosophy, and

philosophy is an existence of human self.

Not work for prestige and money, but,

Work for its quality, truth and sincerity.

Not richness by wealth, but,

The true richness is one who has good health.

Not the poor in living, but,

Poor are those who are pitiable

In their thoughts and lack spirit.

Not the beauty of body, but,

The elegance is tenderness and morals.
